Michael Lewis, 23, from Rhyl, Wales, was on a lads’ holiday in the resort of Arona when he was targeted in a “random attack” in the street last Tuesday.
He died two days later in hospital.
His aunt, Karen Hughes, told the Rhyl Journal her nephew was “attacked randomly” in the street when he went to get food.
He was taken to University Hospital Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria, where he died two days later.
Michael, also known as Liam Bolland - or “Brillo” - had arrived in Tenerife with friends and was staying in the Playa Real Hotel in Costa Adeje.One fundraiser wrote: “Liam/Michael was a very special person to many people, he was too young and innocent to leave us this way. We will miss him.”
A spokesman of the Spanish National Police in Tenerife said: “National Police have arrested two foreign men aged 29 and 30 as the suspected authors of a crime of homicide in Arona.

“During a fight, the victim was attacked whilst on the floor with violent blows that eventually led to his death.

“The incident happened in the early hours after a row outside a nightspot.”

Ms Hughes said: “Michael was just in the wrong place at the wrong time and now has been taken away from his family.
