Papa John’s founder John Schnatter had a role in Cowboys owner Jerry Jones’ unsuccessful effort to essentially take over the NFL. Now Taron Johnson Jersey , the ousted chairman of the board of Papa John’s International, Inc. may hope to take over the company he started.

Via multiple reports, the Papa John’s board of directors voted Sunday to adopt a “poison pill” provision aimed at keeping Schnatter from parlaying his 29-percent share of the company into a controlling interest. In a nutshell, the “poison pill” is more officially known as a shareholder-rights plan. It’s a defensive move designed to block a hostile takeover.

Schnatter stepped down as CEO in the aftermath of his misguided attack on the NFL last November. More recently Zach Miller Jersey , he resigned as chairman of the board after a report surfaced that he used a racial slur during a conference call aimed at restoring his image. He quickly expressed regret for the decision, and he has since been trying to get back in. The company he founded is doing what it can to keep him out.

Along the way, the NFL ended its relationship with the pizza chain Womens Evander Kane Jersey , and multiple teams also have parted ways with Papa John’s. If Schnatter should somehow end up in control of the company again, more teams could follow suit.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — The Buffalo Bills have signed defensive end Nate Orchard in an ongoing bid to upgrade their pass rush after an embarrassing season-opening loss at Baltimore.

The Bills also announced Monday they have released defensive tackle Adolphus Washington http://www.greenbaypackersteamonline.com/jaire-alexander-jersey , the team’s 2016 third-round draft pick.

Orchard had five sacks in 34 games over the previous three seasons with Cleveland. He was selected by the Browns in the second round of the 2015 draft and cut by Cleveland on Sept. 1.

The move comes a day after Buffalo’s defense struggled by giving up six touchdowns and sacked Ravens starter Joe Flacco once in a 47-3 loss at Baltimore. It was the second-most lopsided loss in Bills history.

Washington started 21 games over his first two seasons but became the odd-man out as part of an offseason overhaul. Buffalo signed veteran defensive tackle Star Lotulelei in free agency and selected Stanford’s Harrison Phillips in this year’s draft.
