Staying on the Bench After being officially listed as Geno Smiths backup on the New York Jets depth chart, ESPN New Yorks Rich Cimini doesnt believe Michael Vick will be used as a change-of-pace quarterback this season. The Jets are familiar with that approach, after using Tim Tebow in set plays in 2012. Cimini "got the impression" that head coach Rex Ryan would "rather mow the grass fields at SUNY-Cortland than try another Tim Tebow situation." Vick is expected to serve solely as Smiths backup, a role he has openly accepted. All Part of the Plan? Cleveland Browns head coach Mike Pettine said Johnny Manziel practicing with the first-team offence on Monday was simply part of the plan by the coaching staff.
