BERLIN Brandon Manning Jersey Sale , Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge won the 44th edition of the Berlin Marathon in 2 hours, 3 minutes and 34 seconds but missed his bid to break the world record here on Sunday.


Kenya's Kipchoge reaped his second victory in Berlin after shrugging off resilient Guye Adola, who made his marathon debut, at kilometer 40 to cross the finish line as the winner.


Rainy weather conditions were an in issue for some of the elite runners as Kenya's Wilson Kipsang and Ethiopia's Kenenisa Bekele dropped out as the marathon progressed.

"This was my hardest marathon ever since the weather wasn't conducive for a World Record. The grounds were slippery because of the rain but fortunately there wasn't too much wind. I still think that I can break the world record," Eliud Kipchoge said after race.


In the women's competition Kenya's Gladys Cherono won the Berlin Marathon for the second time, in 2:20:23. Ethiopia's Ruti Aga finished 2nd with an 18 seconds gap Travis Konecny Jersey Sale , followed by third placed Valary Aiyabei with an official time of 2:20:53.


The Berlin Marathon is annually held in Germany's capital and is a citywide road race with the marathon distance of 42.195 kilometers.

A magnitude 7.1 earthquake stunned central Mexico on Tuesday, killing at least 120 people as buildings collapsed in plumes of dust. Thousands fled into the streets in panic, and many stayed to help rescue those trapped.


Dozens of buildings tumbled into mounds of rubble or were severely damaged in densely populated parts of Mexico City and nearby states. Mayor Miguel Angel Mancera said buildings fell at 44 places in the capital alone as high-rises across the city swayed sickeningly.


The quake is the deadliest in Mexico since a 1985 quake on the same date killed thousands. It came less than two weeks after another powerful quake caused 90 deaths in the country’s south.

Mexico City’s mayor said at least 30 died in the capital, and officials in Morelos state, just to the south, said 54 died there.


At least 26 others died in Puebla state Valtteri Filppula Womens Jersey , state disaster prevention chief Carlos Valdes said. Gov. Alfredo del Mazo said at least nine died in the State of Mexico, which also borders the capital.


Officials in Oaxaca reported one quake-related death in that southern state, which is far from the quake’s epicenter.
