They also had the ball in the red zone twice in the fourth quarter down a touchdown or less, and came away with 0 points. After the terrible interception by Brady on the first drive into the red zone, he now has four fourth quarter picks this season. That number is similar to 2013, when he had five. He’s still a top-10 passer in the NFL, but I don’t think anyone is mistaking him for a top 2-3 passer.This team is going to go as far as Tom Brady can take them. The problem is, I don’t know how far that is right now. The teams at the beginning of this dynasty won without elite quarterback play, and this team is not set up to do that. Without a complete and quick turnaround from Brady, it’s hard to imagine the Patriots winning a game in the playoffs, never mind going to an eighth straight AFC Championship game or Super Bowl.
